You might have noticed that we have a little saying that circulates frequently here at SHARE Community. That saying is- “Love is action”. It’s not just something that’s written on our website and posted on our social media channels. “Love is Action” is something we deeply believe in and witness time and time again.
Love is a thing that moves. Love moved our Founder to start an organization dedicated to advocating for our most marginalized community members. Love moves our team of volunteers to give of their time and serve those who are frequently overlooked. In the words of Bob Goff, author of the book Love Does, “... love is never stationary. In the end, love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put: love does.”
Love is more than just the warm feelings and good intentions we have toward our community, it’s the steps we take to change it for the better. If it weren’t for love in action, we would have been able to create the impact we’ve created over the past few years (read our progress report here). When love turns into meaningful action- lives are changed for the better, and with changed lives comes transformed communities.
Our greatest hope is that we will continue to see loving action transform our community, but to empower that mission, we need your support.
