How SHARE Community Supports Unhoused People and Their Pets

At SHARE Community, we believe no one should have to choose between getting help and keeping the companion who brings them comfort, safety, and unconditional love.

That’s why, when we serve people experiencing homelessness, we don’t just focus on human needs—we care for their pets, too.

For many unhoused individuals, a dog is more than a pet. They are protectors, emotional support, and family. When someone is sleeping outside, a dog can help them feel safer through the night and less alone during the day. These loyal companions are part of the reason so many people push through each day with hope.

We honor that bond by offering essentials for pets at our mobile shower sites and outreach events. Thanks to community support, SHARE Community provides leashes, dog bowls, food, and clean water for our neighbors’ four-legged friends. These small but powerful acts help keep people and their pets together—and healthy.
